The majority of the parliament demands that it be established whether Đukanović violated the Constitution

Representatives of the parliamentary majority submitted to the Assembly of Montenegro a proposal for a procedure to determine whether the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, violated the Constitution.
They believe that the President violated the Constitution by not proposing to the Assembly a representative for the composition of the new Government.
They believe that it was the president's strict obligation..
"The President of Montenegro violated Article 95, Clause 5 of the Constitution of Montenegro because he did not invite all representatives of the political parties represented in the Parliament of Montenegro to the discussions on the mandate for the composition of the Government. Namely, the following parties did not receive the invitation: Demos, United Montenegro, Prava Montenegro, The Workers' Party and the Citizens' Union CIVIS, and what the president was obliged to do," they state in the document.
They note that Đukanović did not invite Miodrag Lekić to an interview either, who, by agreement of the parliamentary majority, received the support of 41 deputies to be the mandate holder for the composition of the new Government of Montenegro.
"Also, it is completely unconstitutional for him to call for the signatures of deputies as a condition for the proposal of a representative, because such an obligation does not exist under the Constitution. From the public support of all members of the parliamentary majority of 41 deputies, Đukanović could be unequivocally convinced that Miodrag Lekić has the undisputed support to be a representative for the composition of the Government", they state from the parliamentary majority.
The proposal was published on the Government's website.
