The meeting in Nikšić ended: Long live Montenegro, free and proud, not humiliated and ashamed

19:30 Hot atmosphere on the streets of Nikšić, Montenegrin songs are echoing. The atmosphere is excellent, Montenegrin songs echo.
19:10 "Bella ciao" for the end: The days of freedom will come! May it be eternal!
At the end of the meeting, the lines of the famous song "Bella ciao" echoed through the town under Trebjes.
"And one day, when I woke up, the occupier was there," reads one line of this song, whose hero goes to fight the fascists. He didn't stay with the party card to wait for a job in the civil service, but, saying goodbye, told his sweetheart that when he dies, to bury him in the mountains under a beautiful flower - said moderator Esad Krcić.
"Everyone who passes by will say - what a wonderful flower.
This is the flower of a partisan who died for freedom," he said before the last words he addressed to his beloved - O Bella Ciao.
Let this song remind us of our obligation to never forget and never give up. Thank you for being a part of this special moment! Thank you for being anti-fascists in heart and deed. Long live freedom! Long live the anti-fascist struggle! Long live Montenegro, free and proud, not humiliated and ashamed. Let's wake up, on the wave of glory of Ljub and Sava, wake up East and West, North and South! And those who sleep the deadest sleep, tomorrow, when all this is yesterday, they will have to look us in the eyes! The days of freedom will come! May it be eternal! - it was ordered together in Nikšić.
19:00 Vujović: Kovačević showed the middle finger to all of Montenegro
Academician of the Dukljan Academy Sreten Vujović said that the President of Nikšić Municipality Marko Kovačević showed the middle finger to the whole of Montenegro and thus insulted the entire country as well as the entire national and cultural Montenegrin being.
Šubara showed the middle finger to all of Montenegro. Shame on him. If there is a man in that man, he should say that he does not like the Montenegrin national anthem. He faces a year in prison if he is convicted, and he will not be convicted because he is justifying himself by saying that he is a threatened Serb in Nikšić, where the Serbian structure rules. He insulted Montenegro and the entire national and cultural Montenegrin being - he said.
18:53 Marunović: We will respond to the middle finger with state symbols with two raised high
Montenegrin director Danilo Marunović said that we will not exist if we renounce the memory of Ljub, Joko, Sava, Milica, Muharem, all seven Kovačevićs - national heroes, and all their comrades-in-arms who gave their lives for just a moment. built freedom.
Will we surrender to them and will they silence us? Are we going to allow them, in the midst of proud Nikšić, to persecute Ljub and for their middle finger to become more influential than the entire system? There is no surrender and there is no silence. There is no retreat before the flood of primitivism and fascism. There is no let up in the fight to save the country. There is no freedom if we do not win it ourselves - said Marunović.
He pointed out that we do not have the luxury of ever allowing ourselves to look away from the Montenegrin harbor of freedom.
We did it only for a moment three years ago and today we are faced with the horrifying destruction of all the fundamental values on which Montenegrin society has always rested. Did we give up courage and heroism when we first kept silent "the Turks are crying, the bulls are crying"? Have we forgotten the Montenegrin chivalry when we surrendered all ours, defenseless, into the hands of a foreign church and a foreign state? Did we capitulate when we silently went over the first humiliation of the state of Montenegro? Let it be just one moment of weakness for us, it is human to admit it to ourselves - said Marunović.
That is why, says Marunović, our most sacred duty must be to follow those who 82 years ago embarked on a long and arduous struggle, until the final victory of anti-fascism.
If they take down our flags from our institutions, we will raise our own golden eagles, the highest. If they shorten our anthem, we will sing it ourselves, the loudest. If they threaten our friends and neighbors because of a different name, we will defend them ourselves. If they show us the middle finger at national symbols, we will answer them with two fingers raised high. We will respond to their primitivism with a dignity worthy of what we are - an unconquered, freedom-loving, first insurgent nation in Europe - emphasized Marunović.
He noted that Nikšić never surrendered even to those stronger than the current usurpers of the city.
If pride and national dignity reside somewhere, it is these streets and these people. And those who once walked in them, even to death, like Joka Baletić and Ljubo Čupić. And everything happened, little Montenegro organized the first anti-fascist uprising on European soil. Are we aware of the crazy courage of a people to start a fight against the greatest military power of that time? We are the descendants of those peasants and we owe it to them not to falter in defending the values of anti-fascism and Montenegro, as they created it for us. They are our foundation and stronghold, the answer to every dilemma we have, the source and drain of our lives. That's why we don't have back to nowhere from here. Not from Nikšić, not from Cetinje, not from Podgorica, Pljevlja, Rožaj, Budva, Kotor... Zero tolerance for fascism is our voice and that's why we won't be silent. Never - concluded Marunović.
18:50 Pavićević: Anti-fascism will once again defeat the shadow of the historical vampire who lives on blood, and for someone else's soil
Civic activist and journalist Tanja Pavićević said that July 13 is the day by which we are inscribed from time into the eternity of existence and a symbol of the struggle to remain masters of our own destiny, and not the periphery of someone else's world.
As I said, the citizens of Nikšić gathered, above all, to celebrate the brightest moment in Montenegrin history.
We gathered, above all, to use the flame of the thirteenth of July, if only for a moment, right here, from the shadow of Ljub Čupić, to dispel the shadow that would hang over his smile, over the face of Nikšić, over the face of Montenegro. It is not only the shadow of historical revisionism, but also of historical revanchism. Which did not just loom over us. It is the shadow of the ghost who celebrated Victory Day in Belgrade two years ago with Ljotić's marches, along with which students from Kragujevac were killed. Aveti, who two days ago was happy in Srebrenica, while mothers mourned their dead, killed in the genocide - emphasized Pavićević.
She pointed out that the first man of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, is not a coincidence, but that he is the image of this time, a "faithful protege of the defeated treacherous and criminal Chetnik ideology".
He is history that has already happened. And which had a fair dismissal - emphasized Pavićević.
He notes that anti-fascism is the one that brought Montenegro back to itself, stressing that it will once again defeat "the shadow of the historical vampire that lives on blood, and for other people's soil".
From this place we are saying: anti-fascism will win over fascism - said Pavićević.
She also stated that "liberating" governments have been forming since August 30.
They told us and will tell us from their foreheads that we are nationalists, extremists, they mock our patriotism. Because they don't have it themselves. But that will not change the truth that they also know: they trampled on the Constitution of Montenegro, collapsed the institutions, clericalized the public space, signed the shameful Fundamental Agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church. They distanced us from the European Union, fought with the help of other countries - the battle for Nikšić and other cities, they paid homage to Belgrade and ignorantly to Cetinje. And much more - emphasized Pavićević.
She wished that the lofty struggle of those whom we celebrate today will be filled with patience.
The day will come when we will light the new roads to Montenegro with the 13th of July flame from our chests! I am telling you: in 1941 there were fewer of us than today. But we won. Justice has prevailed. As they will again. That it is eternal - said Pavićević.
18:36 Mrvaljević: The pledge of our future is the joint struggle to preserve the state
Civic activist and executive director of the Forum of Free Citizens "Luča" Nebojša Mrvaljević said that Nikšić is the proud host of the gathering on the occasion of July 13, a bright date in the history of Mother Montenegro.
To show that you didn't bow your head before that shameful finger of the unmemorial! To show that you still have dignity and self-respect, to show rust that it is rust! To give everyone what they deserve - said Mrvaljević.
He pointed out that Nikšić was always among the first to defend the rights, honor and freedom of our homeland.
You were and you will be, regardless of all the trials we face. This is clearly shown by today's magnificent gathering - said Mrvaljević.
He noted that Nikšić contributed to the significant victories that preceded July 13, 1878, when our national independence was recognized at the Berlin Congress.
Independence which, Mrvaljević emphasizes, was actually never extinguished.
And July 13, 1941 clearly tells us why we are here today: because of the 1,241 men and women from Nikšić who gave their lives for our freedom; because of 45 Nikšić national heroes of the anti-fascist struggle; because of Joka, because of Ljub, because of Sava; because of Trebjesa, because of Onogošt, because of Grahovac and Vučje Dol, and because of unyielding Nikšić and anti-fascist Montenegro! Here, among us is our Ljubo, with a defiant smile - a symbol of anti-fascism that the whole world recognized - said Mrvaljević.
Unfortunately, he says, we witness every day the arbitrariness of the authorities, both national and local, "who want to remove one stone from the foundation of our statehood every day".
In the wide corpus of human rights, the right to freedom stands out. And within that framework is our human right to the State, the right to national identity, independence. Our right to be atheists, believers, nationally determined in one way or another within a free state - emphasized Mrvaljević.
According to him, disrespecting state symbols is an attempt to overthrow the state and its laws, and submitting a report to another state is treason.
He said that citizens want a civil and secular, independent, sovereign and democratic state, as defined by the Constitution.
But the foundations of such a civil state, in recent years, despite the principles of its Constitution, are constantly shaking. And they have been constantly, for the past ten centuries were exposed to seismic-political shocks! Today, for the umpteenth time, those foundations are being hit again! The human, original and moral right of all of us who live in this area, in an elementary, civil sense, regardless of the usual and everyday, dishonestly placed phrases concerning the national, religious, cultural... is - to oppose the demolition of those foundations - he said. Mrvaljevic.
This July 13, points out Mrvaljević, is a day to be proud of for all those who, no matter how they prayed or what nations they joined, called themselves freedom, and who wanted to experience Montenegro as a common home.
It is also a date that, at least symbolically, reminds us that the foundations of the state - and therefore the foundations of ourselves, and our rights as citizens who constitute it - must be preserved. It is finally, a date that signifies honor and glory to all those from the entire people of Montenegro, who once again defended the foundations of its freedom, independence and statehood - added Mrvaljević.
This date, he adds, is also the civilizational legitimation of all those who, in a value sense with faith in justice, inherit today's almost forgotten - individual, and then collective values.
Today, our society celebrates this great holiday as one of the key, in the long historical continuity of the struggle - not only for formal freedom and statehood, but also as a superstructure - ten centuries old stone - the foundation of our identity. We have to defend the foundations of that historically confirmed identity, even after so many years. And we will defend them! Because without them we are not a house, we are not a country. And we want to be both a house and a country, where differences are the wealth of that common home - added Mrvaljević.
In this, as he said, he will succeed in spite of many "who for political-political or other reasons - try to project our future, like political grandmothers - fortune-tellers, by throwing Tarot cards on the political table, according to their medieval, clerical-feudal worldviews". .
To everyone who perceives this July 13th not only as the Day of Statehood, but as a true holiday of freedom in the world of free people, Mrvaljević says that the pledge of our future is the joint struggle for its preservation.
Thank you all for showing with your dignity and your culture that there are no Nazis and nationalists, that there is no hatred and division, that we do not quarrel but reconcile, that we look to the future - a European future for our country and each one of its male and female citizens, for all religions and nations, for all our differences, which we perceive as our great wealth. That's why it's important that not a single ugly word, not a single insult, not a single call to division and hatred leave this gathering... This has never suited us and we will show it today. May Montenegro and its civil, national and religious freedom be eternal - concluded Mrvaljević.
18:36 Milačić: The light of anti-fascist Montenegro will shine forever
Actress Julija Milačić said that Statehood Day forces us to believe exclusively in anti-fascist Montenegro.
Right here in Niksic, the city of heroes, the famous Niksic, from which "DEATH TO FASCISM, FREEDOM TO THE PEOPLE" will always be heard. Despite constant attempts to undermine that heroism and freedom, the truth that the Montenegrin people wrote back in 1941, when they decided to say stop fascism, stop chauvinism, stop evil whose only goal is the destruction of everything pure, primordial, everything heroic, no one can to deny. The light of anti-fascist Montenegro shone then and will shine forever, its foundation is a history worthy of the greatest nations - Milacic pointed out.
She wished the citizens of Nikšić a happy day.
Do not lose your strength before the scenes of nationalism and fascism. Let every finger pointed in the direction of the destruction of our country remain in the air. Blažo Jovanović said that on July 14, Montenegro was all in flames, it did not surrender then, it will never surrender, IT IS ETERNAL. In the end, even the enemy admitted that long ago 41. that "To appease the Montenegrins is the same as plowing the sea". "No pasaran" - said Milacic.
18:33 Vujović: Nikšić used to be a city full of songs
Montenegrin actor Zoran Vujović pointed out that Nikšić was once a city full of songs, gunfire, bachelor parties, flags, but also hugs and ruins.
Tired of the war and happy with the victory, he forgot himself, immersed himself in the celebration, in the freshness that poured into him from all sides. What does it matter that close to two thousand sheep graze there, in the city park, that military horses are fed from the city fountains?... Who can prevent the mass of people from entering the already crowded theater hall, where the partisans performed their first performance? Everything will come into harmony later, everything will be arranged, but now only song, joy, flags...,,We want a republic!"...,,Long live Comrade Tito!"... "Long live freedom!" - it was written in greasy, black, clumsy letters on the facades of buildings... - he stated.
18:30 Intoned anthem, Krcić: Victory over destruction is our glorious heritage
The moderator of the event, Esad Krcić, reminded that Nikšić was liberated from fascist occupation on September 18, 1944. He was then the biggest a liberated city in Yugoslavia.
Victory over destruction is our glorious achievement - said Krcić.
The national anthem is intoned, citizens sing in unison.
The ceremony is expected to begin soon
Montenegrin actress Julija Milačić Petrović Njegoš, civil activist and executive director of the Forum of Free Citizens "Luča" Nebojša Mrvaljević, civil activist and journalist Tanja Pavićević, director Danilo Marunović and actor Zoran Vujović will address the citizens. The moderator will be Esad Krcić.
The ceremony is expected to begin soon.
A group of citizens gathered today in Nikšić, on the occasion of July 13 - Statehood Day.
In an earlier announcement, a group of citizens said that "the days of freedom will come".
Because of the 1,241 men and women from Nikšić who gave their lives for our freedom! Because of the 45 Nikšić national heroes of the anti-fascist struggle! Because of Joka, because of Ljub, because of Sava. Because of Trebjesa and Onogošt, because of Grahov and Vučje Dol. Because of recalcitrant Nikšić and anti-fascist Montenegro. The days of freedom will come - they said in the invitation.
