The vote for civil and European Montenegro is safe here

Although at first glance we have a richer political offer than ever before, we have 15 political entities competing for the trust of our townspeople and citizens, the coalition "Together! For the future that belongs to you" is the only one that actually came out with a concrete program, said DPS vice president Ivan Vuković in the program "I know you know" on Gradska RTV.

That program has about fifty pages, which shows how much effort we put into it. We have a complete package and a comprehensive vision of what Montenegro should look like - added the recent mayor of Podgorica, gradski.me reports.

The basic message, Vuković points out, is that if we want to have a truly European, reform and progressive government, which will push Montenegro forward, that government cannot exist without the "Together" coalition.

This is completely clear, clear also because of what we have experienced during the past three years. We are living a political experiment based on the assumption that everything is better than DPS and its coalition partners returning to power in any form - said the vice-president of DPS.

As he added, that is why we are where we are today, when Montenegro stands on the European path, the path of economic and democratic development, and it is no coincidence that their program is called "Montenegro on the Move".

The first of the three basic goals outlined in the program, emphasizes Vuković, is that Montenegro will become a member of the European Union (EU) before celebrating 20 years since the restoration of independence, that is, by May 21, 2026.

The second goal, he adds, is to create new economic value, new investments in infrastructure, improvement of the business environment, etc. on a sustainable basis. increase budget revenues and, on that basis, improve the standard of living of citizens.

If Montenegro enters the EU in 2026, a single labor market will open for all our people and we must offer better conditions if we want to keep them in Montenegro - explains Vuković.

Based on the model of the program implemented in Podgorica from 2021, says Vuković, direct subsidies will be offered to over 30,000 tenants.

We will create a state housing fund from which collective housing facilities will be built where people will be able to live under favorable conditions - he added.

In the period from 2006 to 2019, 11 billion euros of direct foreign investment came into Montenegro, he emphasizes, while from 2020 an environment of political insecurity, instability and irresponsibility was created at the level of the state government, with a populist, i.e. towards all important life issues, even towards investors.

Instead of building a partnership relationship with investors, we persecuted them because they had good relations with the previous authorities - said Vuković.

We currently live only on inflation and value added tax

We must continue where we left off in 2020, he emphasizes and explains that one of the first measures that the "Together" coalition will implement will be the reduction of the corporate income tax to 9 percent.

The previous government increased tax rates to finance these legal and economic experiments and a number of investors have left Montenegro because of this or are thinking about leaving it - he added.

Vuković says that in the field of information technology, the tax will be reduced to zero, because they want to completely exempt that industry from the obligation to pay profit tax.

Those people are important to us, not as people who will pay taxes, but as people who will employ, reinvest and attract others, because the potential for the growth of that industry in Montenegro is unlimited. Montenegro can position itself in that area as one of the leading economies in Europe - believes Vuković.

The difference between the "Together" coalition and their political competition is that, as Vuković says, they "don't sell fog".

We do not believe that Montenegro can live by pouring itself out of the hollow into the empty. We currently live only on inflation and value added tax. The more expensive what we pay in the store, the more revenue the government gets and nothing is invested. We have no new development, infrastructure projects. In the first three months, the state spent less than 15 million euros within the capital budget, which is a disaster - says the vice president of DPS.

Their partners are all those political subjects who essentially, and not declaratively, Vuković emphasizes, believe and are ready to work in the interest of a multi-ethnic, civil, anti-fascist, secular Montenegro.

One of the messages they want to send to the citizens, says Vuković, is that the vote for a civil and European Montenegro is safe with them.

There can be no European, reformist government without this coalition. Because we are too big, an influential political subject, too much institutional memory, experience and everything on which a better perspective and future of Montenegro depends. We can have a pragmatic policy, gathering around several program principles, that's what we tried with the minority government - said Vuković.

Statement of the recent president of Montenegro and DPS president Milo Đukanović that they are ready to cooperate with DF, referred to the fact that they are ready to cooperate with those who are ready to accept their principles and values.

I can understand President Đukanović, who in his political responsibility, in his desire to create a different social environment, sent that type of message, that is the presidential campaign, but that did not mean that we would renounce the values and ideas that we have been fighting for for 25 years, as that we will not give up state symbols - he added.

It is evident that there are now differences in Europe that are not only a matter of personal relationships, says Vuković and reminds that Europe is now a project that was created on the basis of the economic program of the Government of Montenegro.

The key message for these elections is that the program will continue in the form of Europe now 2, and while the leader of that project, Mr. Spajić, without any great elaboration, which must worry us, projects some goals, a financial and economic adviser, one one of the biggest supporters of the Europe Now movement, and a friend of President Milatović, Mr. Miloš Vuković from the Fidelity consulting company came out with a statement that he does not see how that program can be implemented except at the expense of pensioners - concluded Vuković.
