URA is trying to manipulate the statement of the president of the Venice Commission

The URA civil movement should avoid politics and dedicate itself to solving the serious crisis it caused, instead of trying to manipulate the statement of the president of the Venice Commission, Claire Bazi Malori, said the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
The URA called on the representatives of the DPS to heed the appeal of Bazi Malori and vote for the election of new judges of the Constitutional Court.
DPS Executive Board member Boris Muratović stated that Bazi Malori mentioned on Wednesday that judges of the Constitutional Court are elected by a qualified majority, as prescribed by the highest legal act, the Constitution.
"So, not by blackmail, as the URA and its partners under the command of the Democratic Front (DF) are trying to implement," Muratović said.
He said that the URA deliberately obstructed the election of judges of the Constitutional Court this summer, and did not vote for any of the 18 candidates, just to keep the Constitutional Court blocked and prevent the election from taking place.
"The URA is doing the same thing now, trying to escape from the election, but in a different way, by trying to allow 41 deputies to outvote 40, even though the Constitution provides for a qualified majority of two-thirds, or three-fifths in the second round," Muratović stated.
He said that it is not only the DPS that opposes it, "as URA claims it demagogic and manipulative".
"Also all other parties that are not commanded by the DF, which have a total of 40 deputies and represent almost half of the voters who voted in the last parliamentary elections," added Muratović.
He said that it is interesting that the URA clarified that it revised its positions within two months because it now voted for candidates it did not want this summer.
"Because of this kind of politicking, fanatical holding on to the seats, and the crimes in which some of its officials got involved, the government led by the URA has the support of a record 2.8 percent," concluded Muratović.
