Varchelji: Montenegro will not close any chapter until the reforms

The European Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhelji told the Committee for the Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament that Montenegro would not close any chapters until the reforms from Chapter 23 and 24.

Chapter 23 refers to the judiciary and fundamental rights, and Chapter 24 on Justice, Freedom and Security.

Representing the package of EC expanding, Varchelji said that although progress on the EU is paused, the new government is expected to focus on reforms.

We expect the new government to put the focus on reforms to keep democratic institutions and the judiciary functional. Fulfilling the criteria from Chapter 23 and 24 will be key to the further course of negotiations. There will be no chapter closed until this condition is met - said Varchelji.

The EP Rather for Montenegro Tonino Picula said that Montenegro did not make a total of great progress, stating that the judicial system was in a deep crisis with weak leadership, which affects their possibility of making court decisions.

But now we also see people who are open against EU practice and poleltic - he said.

The Prophet of Green Thomas Vajc said he was worrying that he was in the Government former Democratic Front.

We finally have a government that could implement reforms and I hope there will be a clear majority, there is a concern that the Government is former DF but I still hope that reason will overcome even in their orders, rhetoric is one but when they start making decisions We can expect reasonable decisions and we hope to see the future of your country as an occasion for making a decision - said Vajc.
