The President of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš, addressed the crowd last night in the main city square, where the Orthodox New Year was welcomed with Chetnik songs and the waving of tricolors.
Appropriate to the event, Vraneš congratulated the "Dear brothers and sisters and Serbian youth" on the "Serbian New Year".
Dear brothers and sisters, Serbian youth, God helps, Christ is born. On behalf of the Municipality of Pljevlja and my own name, I would like to congratulate you on the New Serbian Year 2024. May God first grant you and your families lots of health, happiness, every success and well-being. May we all live in fraternal harmony and love both with each other and with all our brothers of all other religions and nations. Cheers to many summers - said Vraneš.
We remind you that the head of the Bosniak Party (BS) deputies' club, Amer Smailović, characterized last night's event in Pljevlje as a renewed attempt to weaken the multi-ethnic harmony in this city, which for centuries boasted good neighborly and inter-ethnic relations.
We believe that these and similar actions endanger good neighborly relations. We call on the citizens of Pljevlja to strongly resist all forms of provoking multi-ethnic and multi-religious harmony, as well as good neighborly relations - said Smailović.
He also called on the constituents of the government in Pljevlja to clearly define themselves according to this event and to use their example to further help the preservation of multiethics, as the greatest value of our society.
The government in Pljevlja, in addition to the coalition "For the future of Pljevlja" to which Vraneš belongs, also includes the coalition "Let's go people" (Democrats, United Montenegro and Movement for Pljevlja), Movement Europe now, Socialist People's Party SNP and GP URA.
