Vučić: I wanted to express my respect for Montenegro, we have to try to make relations as good as possible

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar, said that by coming to the inauguration of the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, he wanted to show respect for Montenegro.
We have some differences, but that can be an obstacle in developing as close a relationship as possible. We have to do things on a rational level and try to make these relations as good as possible - Vučić pointed out.
When asked about points of contact with Montenegro, he says that he does not know with whom they would have more if not with Montenegro.
Asked if he expects Montenegro to return the respect, he said that he cannot say that Montenegro does not show respect.
Are we happy because of their every decision, we are not and we don't have to be. Are they happy because of each of our decisions, most certainly not, but it is always better to find a common denominator on the basis of which you can cooperate, and not to look for points of discord and points of conflict with unbearable ease - he said.
Answering the question when Milatović will come to Belgrade, Vučić said that he assumed that the new president of Montenegro would visit Brussels first, "but he is always welcome in Belgrade".
When asked how he understood Milatović's speech, he pointed out that he listened carefully.
And what I understood, I will keep for myself and the politics of Serbia in the coming period. It is clear that Montenegro remains strategically committed to its policy of membership in NATO - We perceive our military position differently and jealously want to preserve our military neutrality, we want to take care of our sky and our country ourselves. Also, we have slightly different nuanced messages regarding some events in the world, but that does not and should not change our extremely friendly attitude towards Montenegro. We respect it, it is the choice of the citizens of Montenegro - said the President of Serbia.
