We will not allow the collapse of the civic concept

The intention of the fallen government and the authorities of Dritan Abazović is to organize a population census in a severe political and institutional crisis, contrary to the recommendations of the European Statistical Organization, said Social Democratic Party (SDP) MP Draginja Vuksanović Stanković.
"When the government aims to increase the number of citizens who declare themselves to be members of one nation, then it raises suspicion, and certainly the SDP and civic Montenegro will give a clear answer to the attempt at ethnic engineering, which is directly opposed to its civic capacity and European path." , Vuksanović Stanković said.
She said that the SDP will not allow the civic concept of Montenegro to change and collapse.
As stated by Vuksanović Stanković, political stability and dialogue are two conditions that must be met in order to maintain a census in one country.
According to her, every word is superfluous about political stability in Montenegro.
"Currently, due to the anti-constitutional actions of the Government and the President of the Assembly, Montenegro is absolutely on the ground of political instability", Vuksanović Stanković assessed.
She added that the census in every country is a very important statistical tool, with the help of which the country creates policies in a huge number of social areas.
"We cannot fully emphasize the importance of a credible and professionally edited list for a community," said Vuksanović Stanković.
She said that Montenegro is a country of political miracles, and that the census in our country is still part of the story of "national counts of blood cells of residents".
"That is why the intention of the fallen government and the Abazović authorities to organize a population census in a severe political and institutional crisis, contrary to the recommendations of the European Statistical Organization, is a clear indication that he continues to implement the agenda outlined for him by the regional power center, whose wishes he has apparently been fulfilling lately ", she stated.
When asked if the SDP will continue the boycott of the parliament, Vuksanović Stanković said that the party never participated in the boycott, but decided to attend the sessions of the Assembly and the committees depending on the specific proposals of the law.
She said that she will continue to do so.
"For the items on the agenda that we consider to be very important, the SDP will attend the sessions of the parliament," stated Vuksanović Stanković.
SDP Vice-President Bojan Zeković assessed that "the way the Government functions, probably only the Prime Minister will remain with all the responsibilities".
"Today, we intend to use the census, which is a statistical matter and should be used to create policies, to destroy the civic character and European orientation of Montenegro. Today, we are raising our voice against that," Zeković pointed out.
