Zeković: Identified persons who sat during the singing of the national anthem will be prosecuted

Acting on the report of an independent councilor in the Assembly of the Capital City, Aleksandar Saša Zeković, police officers of the Nikšić Security Department identified two people who were sitting during the singing of the national anthem of Montenegro at the ceremony of the public institution Day Center for Children with Disabilities and Persons with Disabilities in Nikšić.
I have been informed, officially, that misdemeanor proceedings will be initiated against them before the competent court because their actions contained the elements of a misdemeanor from Article 21 paragraph 5 of the Law on Public Order and Peace - said Zeković for Anten M.
According to the current regulations, they face a fine of 700 to 2,000 euros.
After the initial report to the Police Directorate and the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić, I supplemented it by submitting information about the identity of the person, J.M. and M.G, who did not honor the national anthem. I welcome the quick and professional reaction of police officers and managers at the Regional Police Center "West" who support the rule of law and respect for the law, in every situation, regardless of all our ideological and other differences - said Zeković.
We remind you that during the celebration of the 13th anniversary of the Day Center for Children with Disabilities and Persons with Disabilities, the President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, made a scandalous gesture - he held out his middle finger during the singing of the Montenegrin national anthem. Soon after, a video appeared on social networks showing two people sitting in the last rows during the singing of the national anthem.
