The artist and singer Aleksandra Slađana Milošević passed away today at the age of 69, her friend Biljana Petrović confirmed to FoNet.
Milošević died in the Zemun hospital after a short illness, and the date and time of the funeral will be announced later.
Aleksandra Slađana Milošević was born in Belgrade on October 3, 1955 and was considered an icon of the new wave of the eighties in Yugoslavia.
She had her first solo performance at the "Student summer" festival in Maglaj in 1974, where she won the "Grand Prix".
She came to the surface of the Yugoslav pop-rock scene in 1977 with the song "Au, Au" and in the same year had her first major performance at the Concert near Hajdučka česma, where she performed before Bijeli Dugmet.
Milošević began breaking taboos when she released a song called "Seksi dama", which was banned from broadcasting on numerous radio and television programs.
In 1979, she promoted the song "Amsterdam", and in 1981, she performed at the selection for the Yugoslav representative at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade and won eighth place with the composition "Recipe for Love".
In 1984, she recorded the song "Princeza" with Dad Topić, which was also translated into English, and in 1989 she went to the United States, where she played with the group "Baby Sister" for a while.
At one time, she was a stock broker, and she also worked in marketing agencies. She returned to Belgrade in 1995.
