Donald Trump will support the legalization of marijuana in Florida

AUTHOR: M.J.
US presidential candidate Donald Trump said on his social network Truth Social that he would support Amendment Three to the Florida state constitution, which would legalize marijuana for personal use.
Although his party is, at least formally, against the legalization of marijuana, Trump is of the opinion that it should not be illegal in Florida when it is already completely legal in other states.
His position is also that legalization would increase control over the distribution of marijuana. According to Trump, this would avoid situations where marijuana is combined with other, more powerful, narcotics, such as fentanyl.
By the way, the Republican Party has significantly changed its attitude towards marijuana in the last few years. Although they are still against it, some Republicans have voted for legalization in certain states and even helped with legalization campaigns.
Trump is the last in a series to express this position, and considering that he is currently the ideological leader of the Republican Party, it is possible that this move will trigger a significant change in the party's position.
As a reminder, the first federal state to legalize marijuana was Colorado, back in 2012, together with the state of Washington. Today, marijuana for personal use is legal in 24 of the 50 states, and Florida could become the 25th.
