CP: The National Council of the Montenegrin National Minority continues its mission of obstructing and blocking projects

AUTHOR: M.J.
The Montenegrin Party (CP) announced that the National Council of the Montenegrin National Minority in Serbia continues its mission of obstructing and blocking projects dealing with the preservation and presentation of Montenegrin contemporary and traditional culture.

As announced by the CP, by the decision of the Provincial Secretariat for Culture, on the allocation of funds through a public tender for co-financing projects for the culture and art of national minorities in 2024, no funds were approved for the 5th Art Colony "Hunting Colors" with the explanation that the commission "accepted the proposal of the national council to give priority to other projects".

The art colony "Hunting Colors" is a significant and recognizable artistic manifestation in the Montenegrin diaspora, which has so far gathered more than 20 academic painters from the Montenegrin community from Serbia, France, North Macedonia and Montenegro. Artists have enriched the collection of the Montenegrin Cultural Center in Lovćenac with more than 40 works of exceptional artistic value. The organizer of the colony is the Montenegrin cultural and educational society "Princess Ksenija".

- The National Council of "Montenegrins" in Serbia not only does not finance association projects that promote the identity characteristics of the Montenegrin people, but as a body financed from the budget of Serbia, it tries in every way to block them. We remind you that earlier the national council blocked the transfer of funds that were intended by the provincial government for the organization of the Provincial Competition of reciters in the Montenegrin language for primary and secondary school students from the territory of AP Vojvodina, the only manifestation in the education system of Serbia in the Montenegrin language - it was stated in the press release of the CP -a.
