Round table, exhibition and liturgy in Elbasan

President of Matica Montenegrin Ivan Jovović and general secretary Ivan Ivanović were, for the fourth time in a row, guests of the Metropolitan of Elbasan, Špat and Libražd - Andon Merdanija - on the occasion of the celebration of St. Vladimir Dukljanski in Albania.

The program of the celebration began with the opening of an exhibition with photos of frescoes and icons of saints in the premises of the Skampa theater in the city center, which was prepared by the association of the Community of Montenegrins in Albania, in cooperation with the Municipality of Elbasan. In the following, the Association of Montenegrins of Albania, headed by Marinko Ćulafić, the representative of Montenegrins in the Council for National Minorities of the Republic of Albania, with the deputy mayor of the municipality of Elbasan, Ervin Muca, organized a round table for associates and guests from Montenegro and members of the Montenegrin minority on the topic "Saint Vladimir Dukljanski as a symbol of peace and coexistence among the peoples of the Balkans".

The exhibition was opened this morning in the Monastery of St. Vladimir in the village of Shijon in Elbasan, where a liturgy was held in honor of the saint, after which representatives of institutions from Montenegro met with Metropolitan Merdani. Cooperation with the Community of Montenegrins in Albania began in 2019 at the initiative of the president of ZCGA Ćulafić, paying tribute to the Montenegrin heroes who died on Christmas Day 1916 near Medova.
