Unprecedented move: Mali Iđoš pulled the trigger on the Art Colony "Hunting Colors"

AUTHOR: M.J.
The municipality of Mali Iđoš has given up the grants it received from the provincial government for the organization of the Art Colony "Hunting Colors".
On the basis of a public competition on support to local self-government units from the AP Vojvodina area for the realization and promotion of manifestations of a regional character, the Provincial Secretariat for Regional Development, Interregional Cooperation and Local Self-Government made a decision on March 13, 2024 to award grants to the municipality of Mali Iđoš in the amount of 600,000 dinars for the organization and covering part of the costs of the Art Colony "Hunting Colors".
- Three months later, immediately after the local elections, at the request of the municipality of Mali Iđoš, and without the knowledge of the co-organizer of the art colony of the Montenegrin Cultural and Educational Society "Princess Ksenija", the provincial secretariat made a decision to amend that decision - the Montenegrin Cultural and Educational Society (CKPD) announced ) "Princess Xenia".
The fifth jubilee Art Colony "Lovćenački kolotriti" is planned for the beginning of October with the idea that this year's convocation will bring together eminent, predominantly Montenegrin, academic painters from Italy, the Netherlands, Serbia and Montenegro.
As the CKPD "Princess Xenia" said, in its four years of existence, the art colony gathered 18 academic artists from Serbia, France, North Macedonia and Montenegro and occupied a significant and recognizable place on the cultural map of Serbia and the region. More than a dozen unique artistic works that, with their specificity and value, enriched the collection of the gallery of the Montenegrin Cultural Center in Lovćenac and contributed to the popularization of fine arts throughout the territory of the municipality of Mali Iđoš.
- We see the unprecedented move of the municipal leadership to refuse grants for a manifestation of high academic and artistic level as a radical response to the participation of several prominent members of our society on the electoral list of the Montenegrin Party in the recently held local elections - the statement emphasized.
We remind you that the Montenegrin Party is most responsible for the introduction of the Montenegrin language into official use in the territory of the municipality of Mali Iđoš in 2010, and the CKPD "Princess Ksenija", in addition to the organization of the supplementary school in the Montenegrin language "Crna Gora moja postojbina", has been the organizer of the Provincial reviews of reciters in the Montenegrin language of primary and secondary school students from the territory of AP Vojvodina.
- Unfortunately, the current political narrative in Serbia that "those who are not with us are our enemies" leads to the fact that local authorities often "can't see the forest from the trees" and take actions against the interests of the institutions and citizens they represent, along with direct discrimination. in this case, the Montenegrin national community. Despite all of the above, the fifth Art Colony "Hunting Colors" will be held on schedule, with a more modest organization due to the new situation, but as in previous years at a high level - the announcement concluded.
