On the side of civilization: Montenegrin diaspora supports the co-sponsorship of the Resolution on Srebrenica

The Montenegrin diaspora supported the proposal for Montenegro to be a co-sponsor of the UN Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.

The General Secretary of the Union of Associations of Montenegro in Germany, Safet Hadžibulić, said that it is a sad fact that the genocide against Bosniaks was committed in Srebrenica, stressing that no one can ever change that fact.

To support the UN resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica means, he believes, to place oneself on the side of civilization.

- Since the restoration of its independence, Montenegro has inherited the heritage of civilization, and for hundreds of years it has been the homeland of thousands of Bosniaks. This obliges Montenegrin officials to take an unambiguous position on Montenegro's co-sponsorship of the Resolution on the Srebrenica genocide. The Resolution itself is the best way to ward off the potential abuse of all those who deny the genocide through the false presentation of the Resolution as a document targeting the Serbian people. The perpetrators are guilty, and Montenegro has an obligation to be on the side of truth and justice - said Hadžibulić.
